CBB $4K Spin Move [$1K to 1st]

The bad news is, the stock market is tanking, and we’re on the verge of a global economic collapse. The good news is, we’ve acquired the answer key for tonight’s DraftKings 3-game slate, so get ready for a reversal of fortune!

The main event is a $10 $4k Spin Move with $1k going to first. The slate features the WCC semis and a nice uptempo game from the Horizon league semi-finals.

With the regular season officially over, business will pick up this week heading into the two greatest weekends in all of sports! Of course, CBB DFS will have you covered as we aim to provide as much coverage as we can without losing our jobs or compromising our marriages (in that order). So strap in Bucketheads and, as always, WATM™ (win all the money)!!

Wisconsin-Green Bay @ Northern Kentucky

The Horizon League semi-final should be a fun one, as Wisconsin-Green Bay brings a top 10 tempo in the nation and 319th adjusted efficiency defense, which is a goldmine for DFS players. Despite the massive over/under, it’s important to note that these teams split the regular season and both games sat right around 133 total points. Northern Kentucky was able to control tempo to their style, which is 308th in the nation. Norky loves to shoot the 3 and WGB doesn’t defend the 3 well, so look for that to be the difference in this one.

JayQuan McCloud (G, 8000) plays 85% of the minutes, takes 25% of the shots, and has a 25% assist rate. He had 8.5 boards per game in the 2 matchups vs. Norky earlier this year too, so he’s a safe option on the short slate. Amari Davis (G, 6500) is playing 76% of the minutes in conference play at takes 27% of the shots, but none of those will be behind the arc. He doesn’t have the ancillary production of McCloud, so he’s a bit scoring dependent.

Kameron Hankerson (G, 6000) lives around that 4-5x mark and brings a bit of everything to the table. He only scored 6 points in both games vs. Norky this year, so there’s a chance the Norse are his kryptonite. Manny Patterson (F, 5300) has been playing like Superman lately, seeing a massive increase in minutes and coming through with 6x/4x/4x off the bench recently. Cody Schwartz (G, 5000) isn’t a guard, as he’s 6’9 and plays PF/C, splitting time with Patterson and Trevian Bell (G, 4400) down low. If forced to rank the post rotation, I’d probably go Patterson/Bell/Schwartz in terms of upside.

Norky gets the pace up game, so I will be getting several Norse in my lineup tonight. Jalen Tate (G, 7800) has 25% usage, 27% assist rates, and the #1 steal rate in the Horizon League. Like office linebacker Terry Tate, Jalen should be a big problem for the Phoenix.

Dantez Walton (F, 7400) is taking 31% of the shots while he’s on the floor. He missed a bunch of time this year, but is playing well of late and had a double-double plus ancillary production in his only matchup vs. WGB. Tate and Walton are both very strong plays tonight.

Tyler Sharpe (G, 5200) is going to play every minute and although he’s the 3rd wheel, he’s sat around 4-5x all season long and is priced down $2000 from when they were on the slate earlier this year. Trevon Faulkner (G, 5000) will also play a ton of minutes and had a few spike games back in Jan. His recent logs are a bit light, but you could do worse for value plays. Adrian Nelson (F, 4300) is 6’7 and has the 3rd highest offensive rating in the nation per Kenpom. Obviously minutes are the issue, but if he can play 20+ minutes, he’s a strong, albeit risky value option on the short slate.

San Francisco @ #2 Gonzaga

Gonzaga hasn’t played since February and San Francisco has already won two WCC tournament games over the weekend to get to this point. The Dons also had half time leads in both meetings with the Zags so if we think this will be a walk in the park for Mark Few’s crew we may be mistaken.

Vegas has the line at -13, but I like San Fran as the Zags will be kicking off the rust. From a DFS standpoint, both of these teams like to play with tempo so the over/under is an inviting 150.5.

Charles Minlend (G, 6400) has been the team’s leading scorer through the first two WCC tournament games. He’s found his shooting stroke in the Orleans arena and is a great option for your line up tonight. Jamaree Bouyea (G, 7000) is actually the highest priced Don. He’s a good cash option as he consistently stuffs the ancillary stats.

Jamaree is in Will Arnett’s line-up

The 7-footer Jimbo Lull (F, 6300) is a double-double threat, but foul risk comes into play when guarding the crafty Gonzaga bigs. He has 4x in 8-of-9 though with a few smash games, so that is hard to ignore. Khalil Shabazz (G, 5400) is the last Don I am mentioning. He’s GPP option as he has gone 4x both times against the Bulldogs. He’s the classic shooter that can get hot from deep.

Filip Petrusev (F, 7200) has 26 and 42 DK in the first two meetings with San Francisco. I assume he’ll be somewhere in between tonight meaning he is a safe cash play with upside. Killian Tillie (F, 6600) missed the first meeting but has 33 DK in the second. He’s priced to play today. I am not considering Drew Timme (F, 5000).

Corey Kispert (F, 6200) and Ryan Woolridge (G, 5900) are the minute hogs for the Bulldogs. Both are over 40% from 3 too, and the Dons are 341th in the nation at defending the arc (opponents shooting 37.9). Joel Ayayi (G, 6100) is uber-talented but only a contrarian option to those shooters. Admon Gilder (G, 5200) is the cheapest of the perimeter plays and he just like the other could all heat up.

Saint Mary’s @ #15 BYU

In what should be an amazing night cap, Saint Mary’s takes on BYU in the other WCC semi-final. These two teams split their regular season meetings each winning at home. BYU their game by 2 on 2/1, while Saint Mary’s won by 3 in overtime back on 1/9. Tonight the Cougars are favored by -4 in Vegas and the over under is at 145.

Guards Jake Toolson (7100) and TJ Haws (7700) have been the backbone of the Cougars all season as they dominate the ball handling.  Haws is on a heater right now that has him at a season high price point. He’s been over 30 DK for a month which has led to the $1,000 price hike. Toolson is 5th in the nation in 3PT% knocking down 47%. That’s good I think. Either one of these guys are in play tonight, but given the cost it will be hard to pair one with the man-child down low.

PSA – Don’t GIF ‘monster’, ‘beast’, ‘baby’, or ‘child’ together unless you want nightmares.

In 18 games, Yoeli Childs (F, 8900) has 34.9% usage (8th), 37.6% shot share (7th) and a 28.2% defensive rebound percentage (14th). He has had 53 DK in the win over Gonzaga on 2/22 and followed that up with a 59 DK effort against Pepperdine. Folks may shy away from the 24 DK point effort against Saint Mary’s last time out, but he battled foul trouble that game. Something that normally doesn’t affect him.

Other Cougars in consideration include Zac Seljaas (G, 5700) and Alex Barcello (G, 4700). Seljaas will play the whole game and Baracello is a 6th man on a short bench. Kolby Lee (F, 4000) starts as he has been filling in for Dalton Nixon (F, 4500). Nixon was hoping to come back for the WCC tournament, so we’ll monitor his status. Neither are worth playing though.

For the Gaels, Jordan Ford (G, 8200) and Malik Fitts (F, 7500) are still the main-stays. Ford leads the team in usage and shot share while Fitts is their top rebounder and best defender. Both shoot 40% from deep and average over 16 points per game. Ford, the better scorer of the two, can be a little scoring reliant at times. Fitts had 29 points and 8 rebounds in the last meeting against BYU so he should have room to operate.

Tommy Kushe (G, 5400) and Tanner Krebs (G, 5100) are cheaper options if you are interested but they tend to 3x their price a lot more than they 4x it. Dan Fotu (F, 4600) is a cheap cash game option, but he has shown little upside.

This slate has three very playable games, but man is the star-power top heavy. Value was hard to find, so finding that right balance this evening is going to be tough! This game tips at 10PM CST so you can bet I’ll have at least one big gun from this game. Late night WCC heat! Let’s do this! WATM™
